Memphis International Raceway and Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau Unveil Memphis-Themed Nitro Funny Car

The Memphis-themed nitro funny car will be driven by Daniel Wilkerson and will race at the 63rd Annual World Series of Drag Racing presented by Sunoco and the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau at Memphis International Raceway August 26-27.

The 63rd Annual World Series of Drag Racing is the world's longest continually running drag racing event and will take place at the Memphis International Raceway for the first time in its 63-year history on August 26-27. Previously the World Series of Drag Racing stared in Lawrenceville, Illinois in 1953 and later transitioned to Cordova International Raceway. Since its conception, the event has featured the world's best drag racing in a family friendly environment with vendors, good food and open access to the pit area for autographs and to meet the drivers.

The World Series of Drag Racing will include events for the whole family including the kids zone presented by Autobahn Indoor Speedway, an array of food options, meet and greets with autograph sessions, and a fireworks show Friday and Saturday nights.
