CamelBak(R) Collaborates With Elite Trail Runners Across the Globe to Reinvent Hydration for Runners

/EINPresswire.com/ -- PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwired - August 03, 2016) - CamelBak®, the leader in personal hydration, worked closely with some of the world's most elite trail and ultra-runners to redefine how water is carried during high-performance trail running. As a result, the completely revamped CamelBak Run collection features new hydration technology at the core of each product. CamelBak athletes instrumental in the development of this collection include Dylan Bowman, winner of the 2015 Tarawera Ultramarathon in New Zealand and TNF 100k in Australia, Rory Bosio, two-time winner of the UTMB in 2013 and 2014, and Yiou Wang, winner of the Lake Sonoma 50 and Quicksilver 50. Providing feedback from Europe were top runners from Team Asics Trail, including Xavier Thevénard, two-time winner of the UTMB in 2013 and 2015. Team Garmin Adventure also provided critical feedback to verify the quality and durability of the new CamelBak products.

"I used the CamelBak Marathoner vest when I won the UTMB in 2013 and 2015," said Xavier Thevénard of Team Asics Trail. "The new Ultra Pro Vest is even lighter and more ergonomic and the new Quick Stow Flasks are comfortable to carry in the front pockets and take up less space when they are empty."

The new collection is designed to meet the needs of a variety of runners and utilizes two revolutionary new hydration technologies, Crux Reservoir and Quick Stow Flask. CamelBak Crux Reservoir brings a game-changing 20 percent more water per sip while Quick Stow Flask and Quick Stow Chill Flask offer two ways to carry water in a lightweight and collapsible vessel. Quick Stow Chill Flask is the first insulated flask on the market, keeping water colder two-times longer than any other flask while maintaining the lightweight, collapsible properties runners demand. Both Crux and Quick Stow feature the patented Big Bite valve that is irrefutably the best drink interface on the market thanks to its self-sealing silicone design.

"Nothing beats product input from the best athletes in the world," said Jon Austen, Senior Director of Product at CamelBak. "We were able to reinvent our run hydration systems with very specific feedback about the challenges runners face on the trail."

2017 RUN COLLECTION

Ultra Pro Vest, with 5L of total cargo space, is made from ultra-light materials in a streamlined design making this vest ideal for the competitive ultra-runner or everyday minimalist. Available in small, medium and large sizes for the perfect fit, the Ultra Pro Vest is equipped with two Quick Stow Flasks, totaling 1L of water. 3D vent mesh offers multi-directional air flow and cushioning to maximize comfort and breathability. Dual adjustable sternum straps increase stability and offer a range of adjustment for customizing the fit. Other features include a secure phone pocket for keeping technology safe and nearby, stretch overflow pocket for stashing layers or a rain shell, fuel and gear pockets on the front of the vest for easy access and reflective hits throughout for early morning or evening runs.

Ultra 10 Vest and Circuit Vest both come equipped with Crux reservoirs. Ultra 10 has the most capacity of the vests, and features a 2L Crux reservoir with 8L of additional cargo space and is designed to carry everything required for the UTMB. Circuit Vest is a more minimal option and features a 1.5L Crux reservoir and 3.5L of additional cargo space. Both vests are also capable of carrying two Quick Stow Flasks in the two front vest pockets giving them a variety of options for hydration transport.

Ultra Handheld Chill is the perfect solution for runs that require water and no extra gear, and is designed around the lightweight and flexible Quick Stow Chill Flask. Designed to carry water, gel and a phone, this streamlined design features 3D vent poly mesh that creates air flow between the hand and the vessel. Interwoven elastic bands create seemingly endless possibilities on how to route hands for the perfect balance of comfort and stability. The Ultra Handheld Chill utilizes the insulated Quick Stow Chill Flask, keeping water colder two-times longer than a non-insulated flask.

Available in October 2016, the Run Collection includes the Ultra 10 Vest, Ultra Pro Vest, Circuit Vest, Ultra Handheld Chill, Quick Grip Chill and Ultra Belt. Like all CamelBak products, the entire Run collection is covered by the CamelBak Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee.
