Swift Navigation Moves Its Headquarters to the Heart of San Francisco's Tech District

Located in SoMa, Swift Navigation's New Headquarters Accommodates Its Expanding Team and Growing Operations

/EINPresswire.com/ -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - July 29, 2016) - Swift Navigation, the San Francisco-based startup building centimeter-accurate GPS technology that will power a world of autonomous vehicles, announced that it has moved its headquarters to 1543 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94103 (Mission Street at 11th Street). Centrally-situated between the Van Ness Corridor, the Market Street Corridor, South of Market and Hayes Valley, the new HQ is near fellow San Francisco tech companies such as Twitter, Uber, Square, Zendesk, Zynga, Adobe and Jawbone.

With a rapidly-growing team approaching 50 employees, Swift Navigation has been searching for the perfect facility to accommodate its expansion. The new HQ houses the company's core departments, including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Estimation Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Embedded Engineering, FPGA Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, HR, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, Product Management, Business Intelligence, QA Testing, Customer Support and the Executive Team.

"Swift Navigation powers the next leap forward in GPS technology and we've been rapidly expanding, bringing together the best and brightest engineers from all over the globe to join us in our mission to enable a future of autonomous vehicles," said Swift Navigation CEO, Timothy Harris. "We could not be more thrilled to now have an incredible home base, in a great location, that accommodates the ongoing growth and development of our company and new products."

Occupying an historic industrial building constructed in 1927, the new Swift headquarters' brick masonry construction brings character and diversity to the area. A former sewing factory for over 40 years, the 5,700 square-foot open floor plan has two street frontages, hardwood floors, high ceilings and ample windows that bring in an abundance of natural sunlight and city views. The office location on the top floor of a 3-story building allows access to the rooftop where the Swift engineering team benefits from an unobstructed clear sky view to perform engineering testing and development using Piksi™ -- Swift's high-precision GPS receivers that track carrier phase data from GPS satellites in orbit.

Situated half a block from the Mission Street, Van Ness and Market Street intersection, the new HQ is located in one of the busiest and most prominent areas in the City, walking distance from San Francisco City Hall, the City, State, and Federal Office Buildings and Davies Symphony Hall. Public transportation (BART and MUNI) is just blocks away. To accommodate its avid bike-to-work team, Swift has provided secure indoor bike storage. Its walking proximity to ample San Francisco restaurants, coffee shops and retailers also make it a fun place to work for Swift employees.

The new Headquarters supports the continued expansion of Swift Navigation, which recently raised an $11 million series-A financing round led by Lior Susan and Pierre Lamond of Eclipse. To date, the company has raised a total of $13.6 million in funding.
