Fullerton Cares Selected as Charity of the Year by Woman's Club of Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif., July 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- To support autism charities and special education, Fullerton Cares was selected as “Charity of the Year” by the Woman’s Club of Fullerton Helping Hands. As the selected charity, Fullerton Cares will be introduced at the Woman’s Club of Fullerton meeting on July 11th, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at 404 W. Wilshire, Fullerton, where leadership from both organizations including Founder Larry Houser and Board Directors Summer Dabbs and Brian Bartholomew will speak, officially accept the designation and introduce the upcoming efforts for the year.

Helping Hands is the subcommittee of Woman’s Club of Fullerton who selects and administrates the club’s charitable efforts for the year.

The Woman’s Club of Fullerton organizes two major fundraisers: Rocktoberfest in October and Bunco Boogie in May with all proceeds going towards Fullerton Cares this year. Mutual support of volunteers, raffle prizes, and more will be offered between the two organizations during all events throughout the year, including the two major Fullerton Cares’ annual events where the Woman’s Club will be present, at the Comedy Show for Autism on October 21, and the Mardi Gras for Autism in early 2017.

Says Fullerton Cares founder Larry Houser, “This is a truly exciting honor to be selected for and a validation of the work we have been doing in our town of Fullerton in support of people of all abilities to participate in school, the community, and the workforce. We thank Helping Hands and the Woman’s Club of Fullerton for their support.”
