Corporate Event Band BonJourney CANADA Sets the Stage For Continued Success!
Perfect for Corporate Parties, Socials, Corporate Christmas Parties and First Nation Festivals
A piano begins, the chords are exactly that of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" - a multi-million dollar hit written by Journey some twenty years ago. The smiles on the faces in the crowd tell the story best, there's clapping going on and it's two bars into the song. BonJourney vocalist Al Langlade steps up to the microphone and sends forth a magical array of perfectly pitched words sending hairs on the backs of necks standing straight up, "Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world" - and with those notes, played ever-so-carefully along with pianist Roman Picco's exacting melodies, BonJourney CANADA is back.
Guitarist Jason Bozec, a virtuoso on the machine - then begins a combination of harmonic notes with ever-blazing lead notes as the song builds momentum; it's Bozec's forth gig in two weeks with the band and he's in the pocket - comfortable on the stage. After all, it's not his first rodeo and was an accomplished player long before the invitation came to succeed guitarist Les Birta a month previous.
The venue is small, and relatively insignificant to others - to the band and the crowd there that night - this was the only place to be; to witness the reformation of one of the top tribute acts to Journey and BonJovi that has been.
As the band tirelessly hammered out one Journey song after another the crowd was drawn deeper and deeper into the perfomance. It was magical. Conventional wisdom says, "it's just a tribute act" - the reality that night for the band, the crowd and the owners of the pub all say "this is an amazing show deserved of our participation"
The band completes the Journey set and takes a break to mingle with the crowd. The hand shakes and kudos exchanged almost look staged - after all, this is just a tribute act. Friends, family and acquaitances of the band are all there and it's another sell out for BonJourney.
Set two begins as the BonJovi portion of the night takes over - the dancefloor is filled and the room appears almost empty - the chairs and drinks emptied out by the desire to participate with such a beautiful night.
Guitarist Jason Bozec has performed some type of magic - to be able to clearly rifle off two complete sets of some of the best guitar work ever committed to vinyl; Neil Schon of Journey and Ritchie Sambora of BonJovi both very accomplished writers. Bozec just nailed it, all of it...Four weeks after the invitation...
Drummer Kevin Palmer, surprising - remained upright. After taking a three year break from the band, he had to be quite out of shape. However, during the BonJovi song Keep the Faith - Palmer let go a drumsolo that had the crowd on their feet - lasting more than 4 minutes of intricate polyrhythms and melodical pounding. The crowd went nuts. The lineup at the front door served as a reminder and testimonial of the attractiveness of BonJourney - and foreshadowed the return of the band to the Festival and Events circuits later in the year and 2017.
At 1:23am on Sunday morning - the final encore was completed; and the band had successfully tested and proved the band's ability to draw a crowd from completely nowhere - selling out this room and completing a comeback which was quite exciting to watch.
This band has performed all over - from the George Street Festival in Newfoundland, Bay Roberts, parts of Quebec, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, across Ontario and Manitoba - it's popularity always a drawing card for the Festival and Event Managers that continually hire this band.
