Wyoming author shares gripping story of rugged Western women
Author Lois Slater captivates readers as she speaks a story of surviving lies, deceit, loss, and betrayal in her enthralling fiction, “Stem of the Wildflower.”
A novel of love, heartache, and sheer determination, “Stem of the Wildflower” is an interesting fictional novel about a young family that came to the West and built a dynasty with two identical twins weaved within one soul.
“My daughter was the inspiration for Liza and Lizzie Baxter. She was 4 at the time. Her stigma for truth and right blended with the integrity of her independent nature to never back down gave me the perfect characters for my story. I use to say all the time I wish she'd of been twins. So that's how they came to life in my book. Now, 27 years later, a dream come true has transformed right in front of me,” shares Slater when asked about the inspiration behind her book.
“Once the audience gets to know Liza and Lizzie, they will love them! They'll laugh at their shenanigans, and cry within their heartaches. They'll see that there are days you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and push forward. They will be inspired to feel the determination of self as they read this book, the next one,” states Taylor Michaud, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Slater calls a piece of land nestled in the foothills of the BigHornMountains in Buffalo, Wyoming, her home. She lives there with her husband. They have two grown children and three grandchildren. She hopes that the readers will enjoy reading her book about the Blaxter saga as much as she had fun writing it.
