Just where did PlanSwift come from?
BOUNTIFUL, UTAH, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, May 20, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- PlanSwift came largely out of nowhere, dominated a crowded construction software marketplace, and established itself as the clear leader of the pack among the construction estimating softwares in 2016. So just where did they come from?
PlanSwift was founded in 2007 by Heber Allred who based the company in Henderson Nevada. Before PlanSwift, Heber was working for a large lumber roof truss company in Nevada and initially made the software to convert the piles of blueprints in their offices to a digital format. That truss company, like many other companies in the construction industry, needed help eliminating the clutter and providing an instant plan storage and retrieval.
After the first version of PlanSwift, then known as Tech Unlimited Inc, was made and plans were easily accessible in digital form, many of their customers started requesting ‘digital takeoff’ features for calculating measurements and material quantities. It was then that the name was changed to PlanSwift and the product was launched in early 2007.
Even in the early years PlanSwift showed a lot of promise for the construction industry.

Over the years many of PlanSwift’s customers have left reviews of the software on various different websites.
Software Advice: Software advice is a service that helps people in finding software that best fits the needs of their customers and their company. Essentially simplifying the process of selecting the right software. With over 300,000 buyers that they’ve advised, PlanSwift employees couldn’t be happier about the reviews the company has gotten. Harvey from Senger Roofing said,
“In my experience with PlanSwift software I find that uploading plans, from both paper copies and internet links, is simple and easy. This makes it quick to get started on take off for calculations. I am a roofer and I need to have totals from squares of material on roofing projects. I have found this program invaluable in conducting my estimating for upcoming projects, saving me time and money from necessary job site visits. Software Advice was right on the money when they recommended PlanSwift!”
At the time that PlanSwift launched most softwares were extremely expensive, sometimes even thousands of dollars. The first version of the takeoff and estimating software, PlanSwift, started at the remarkably low price of just $750.
In addition to being friends with Heber Allred, the first 3 employees to join the company were already in the construction industry and were customers of Tech Unlimited. After 2 successful years of selling their product, the small PlanSwift team decided to start a new office in Bountiful Utah to expand their operations of the business as well as expand the capabilities of the software.
Once the new office was set in motion Heber hired a local successful sales representative and businessman, James Purpura, who is currently the president of PlanSwift. At this time Derrick Delquadro was also hired. Derrick was a previous customer of Tech Unlimited Inc and wanted to be a part of the growing business.
James started in the sales department and was largely responsible for PlanSwift’s doubling of their sales revenue every year up to today.
Derrick was one of the first salesmen PlanSwift had. He started a sales team in his basement with just a few people before the office in Bountiful was fully set up.
PlanSwift was acquired by Textura, a successful construction collaboration solutions company. In February of 2013 PlanSwift became a part of the Textura family of amazing softwares. PlanSwift’s sister companies are BidOrganizer, PQM, GradeBeam, Latista, Submittal Exchange, EPP, CPM, GreenGrade, and Performance Tracker.
PlanSwift is the trusted takeoff and estimating software for more than 40,000 users in 60 different countries around the world. PlanSwift has seen fast growth the past few years in the digital software industry and will continue on the road to success.
