Europe and Eurasia: Special Presidential Envoy McGurk Travel to Belgium and Jordan
Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL Brett McGurk will travel to Brussels, Belgium, May 13–14, to brief the North Atlantic Council at NATO and for meetings with senior Belgian government officials on the progress of the Counter ISIL campaign.
Following Brussels, Mr. McGurk will depart for Amman, Jordan, where he will meet with senior Jordanian government officials to discuss our strong partnership in the fight against terrorism and our shared interest of a lasting defeat of Daesh.
During all of his meetings, Special Presidential Envoy McGurk will discuss the coalition’s campaign to increasingly pressure Daesh across its core in Iraq and Syria, as well as efforts to counter the terrorist group’s aspirations for expansion.
