/EINPresswire.com/ -- IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - April 28, 2016) -  Tilly's Life Center (TLC) announced that it will be participating in the 2nd annual iheartoc Giving Day, a county-wide event where local residents and businesses can put their dollars to work by investing in worthy causes where they live. Organized by the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF), iheartoc Giving Day will run from 6 a.m. April 27 through noon, April 28. 

"TLC was founded by Tilly Levine in 2012 as a passion project. The Tilly's name is widely associated with youth culture, and our founder wanted to invest in her customers by offering scientifically-proven tools to help improve attitude and mindset," said Monica Utley, Director of Administration at TLC. "With our participation in this year's iheartoc Giving Day we are hoping to educate the community about our mission, and energize residents to support us and other participating non-profits in the region."

TLC is a youth-focused foundation aimed at empowering teens by teaching life skills that build confidence, inspire compassion and encourage them to pursue their dreams. Leveraging public schools and after school club programs, TLC is a program based on experiential learning, with a curriculum based on self-discovery. The organization's goal for iheartoc Giving Day is to raise additional funding that will allow them to expand the reach of their program to reach teens in every part of Southern California.

Iheartoc Giving Day is easy to navigate. Donors will have 30 hours to give, simply by going to iheartoc.org/npo/tillys-life-center from any smartphone, tablet or PC. For every dollar donated, OCCF will provide matching opportunities to support TLC and its valued work among the county's youth. Contributions made during iheartoc Giving Day will be leveraged by $500,000 in bonus awards and prizes. A live leaderboard on iheartoc.org will show a running tally of funds raised throughout the event so donors can keep tabs on their favorite organizations. Last year, iheartoc Giving Day raised more than $1.8 million through 6,000 gifts to 347 participating nonprofits in just 30 hours.

TLC will be offering prizes for spreading the word about iheartoc Giving Day. Beginning April 18 through April 28th at noon, follow Tilly's Life Center on Instagram, like their post and tag a friend for a chance to win a $100 Tillys gift card.
