New ALR-H450 Is Designed for Prolonged Use With Optimal Read Quality in a Light, User Friendly Footprint for Retail, Manufacturing and Asset Management

This new Android 4.4 (KitKat) device complements the existing Windows Mobile device from Alien, enabling Alien to offer a broad portfolio of products to retail, manufacturing and asset management customers.

The robust (IP64), compact device (7.3" x 3.4" x 4.1") is differentiated by the inclusion of a full QWERTY keyboard in addition to dual high power lithium Polymer batteries (8,400mAh) that provide all day usage with typical handheld duty cycles.

Unusual for a product of this class is the quality and performance of the antenna. The high performance 4dBic antenna is custom designed to deliver significant boost in read distance, while the quad-core 1.3GHz CPUs enable rapid read rates that benefit customers in the highest levels of read quality in the industry.

Complementing these features are those that Alien customers have come to expect from Alien "Connected" handheld products. These features include WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth (4.0), worldwide cellular connectivity, GPS, memory expansion capability as well as a microphone, light sensors, proximity sensors and full bar code reader support.

The ALR-H450 is available at a list price of $1,599 for immediate delivery in the U.S., with other regions to follow shortly. The device will be on display and available for demonstration at RFID Journal LIVE May 3-5, 2016, in Orlando, Florida, at the Alien Booth (#404).
