Sustainable Primary Care/Behavioral Health Integrated Service Models the Focus of May mhca National Innovation Incubator

/EINPresswire.com/ -- GETTYSBURG, PA--(Marketwired - April 25, 2016) - On May 10, mhca will convene an executive briefing on sustainable primary care/behavioral health integrated service models. The session, part of mhca's National Innovation Incubator program, will feature case studies of best practice models from across the United States. The session will be held at the Westin Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The session will feature case study presentations by:

  • Amelia Clark, Vice President of Community Health, Meridian Health Services, Muncie, Indiana
  • Allen Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Adult & Child Center, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Marc Hackett, Chief Executive Officer, Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Robert Dunbar, M.P.A., M.Ed., Senior Associate, OPEN MINDS

This half-day event will launch with an overview from OPEN MINDS' Senior Associate, A. Robert Dunbar, M.P.A, M.Ed on the primary care market, trends in reimbursement, and key issues relevant to sustainability specific to behavioral health organizations adding primary care service lines followed by two case study presentations. After the case study presentations, an interactive discussion session is planned where the faculty will discuss critical success factors for the operation and management of primary care and how to leverage integrated care models to do more population health management.

"Primary care service models that integrate behavioral health are in big demand from both health plans and payers. But, while demand for these services is up, current reimbursement models and rates -- and regulatory requirements -- make sustainability of the models difficult," said Monica E. Oss, chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS and the chair of the mhca's National Innovation Incubator. "Understanding how the leading organizations in the field are operating these cutting-edge programs -- and planning for their future evolution -- is essential."

Since August 2014, mhca Innovation Incubators have continued to provide leaders in the behavioral health industry with a unique opportunity to collaborate with peers and learn innovative strategies and techniques for remaining sustainable. This think-tank style approach to innovation has allowed organizations across the U.S. to recognize and understand emerging trends and develop new and improved products and services within their organizations.

Join mhca and OPEN MINDS at the next Innovation Incubator to give your organization the tools, tips, and tricks you need to not only survive, but thrive in the changing health and human services environment.
