/EINPresswire.com/ -- PEABODY, MA--(Marketwired - April 07, 2016) -  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has expanded the recognized testing and certification scope of TÜV SÜD to include fifteen additional test standards and one additional recognized testing and certification site.

Evidenced by publication in the Federal Register on March 2, 2016, OSHA has announced that the scope expansion application by the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), TÜV SÜD America, has been approved. TÜV SÜD's additional scope covers devices in the categories of Gas Heating Equipment, Air Conditioning Equipment, Refrigeration Unit Coolers and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Systems. The Federal Register Notice asserts, "OSHA recognition of an NRTL signifies that the organization meets the requirements specified by 29 CFR 1910.7" and "As a result of recognition, employers may use products properly approved by the NRTL to meet OSHA standards that require testing and certification of the products."
