DALLAS, March 30, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veritex Community Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Veritex Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:VBTX), announced today the hiring of Texas banking veteran Clay Riebe as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Mr. Riebe brings over 30 years of banking experience to Veritex where he will join the bank’s senior executive management team. His résumé includes executive level positions at a pedigree list of Texas banks. Clay will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight, administration and credit quality of the bank’s loan portfolio. He will work hand-in-hand with Jeff Kesler, the bank’s Chief Lending Executive to grow Veritex Bank’s corporate and middle market lending.

Mr. Riebe is a life-long resident of Texas and a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Management degree. His 30-year banking career began at a small community bank in Lubbock, Texas. A growing career ultimately led him to Bryan/College Station where he joined First American Bank Texas. He has quickly advanced to become head of their lending team. In 2005 he took a position at Citibank. After four years he joined American Momentum Bank as Market President. Eighteen months later he was named Chief Lending Officer. Riebe was responsible for lending activities in both the Texas and Florida markets. He managed the bank’s credit administration as well as the production activities. He was a member of all executive management committees, served as Chairman of the senior loan committee and was responsible for all interaction with regulatory agencies relative to the lending activities and credit quality of the bank. Mr. Riebe was elected to the Board of Directors of American Momentum in June 2014.

Clay and his family take a more-than-active role in supporting their community. He was a board member of the Bryan/College Station Salvation Army and a former board member of the College Station ISD Education Foundation, on which he also served as a member of the finance committee. Additionally, he served as a director, treasurer and member of the executive committee of Health for All, a nonprofit health care clinic providing over 4,000 free patient visits annually to the medically uninsured. He also served as director of the United Way of the Brazos Valley. Mr. Riebe has been a member and deacon of Central Baptist Church of Bryan for the past 26 years.
