BELLEVILLE, IL --(Marketwired - March 25, 2016) - Dr. Thomas Feder, a premier dental implant provider, recently partnered with a local school to promote good oral health in recognition of National Children's Dental Health Month.

/EINPresswire.com/ -- National Children's Dental Health Month is held every February. This year's campaign, "Sugar Wars," focused on teaching kids the oral health risks of consuming too much sugar. Tooth decay is the number one chronic disease in children around the world, and young American students miss millions of hours of class time each year to address dental issues. "Our office looks forward to this event every year because we get to interact with children and get them practicing great oral health techniques early in their lives," Dr. Feder said.

Dr. Feder and his staff have worked with the first-graders at Belle Valley Elementary School for the past 35 years. Dr. Feder and his family have close ties to Belle Valley Elementary School. He served as a school board trustee for 12 years -- 10 of which as president -- his sons attended Belle Valley Grade School and his wife taught fifth grade at the school for five years.

For the school's annual dental health presentation, Dr. Feder gave a 10-minute presentation and showed movies from the American Dental Association about the importance of dental health. The Belleville dentist also gave the children toothbrushes and toothpaste.

"My hope is that seeing a dentist at their school will make them less fearful when they go to any dental office," Dr. Feder said.

Dr. Feder's Belleville dental practice, at 16 N. Jackson St., has seven dental chairs, digital X-rays and TVs in each room for patient comfort.

Dr. Feder has been in practice for more than 40 years, providing general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry. He was inspired to become a dentist by his father and great uncle, both of whom were Illinois dentists.
