Race Registration Opens Today!

LEESBURG, VA, USA, March 17, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Leesburg locals may have seen an ape roaming the streets of downtown recently; shopping, drinking, heckling fellow pedestrians, or just causing general mischief and mayhem. This ape is on a mission however; he’s out to help military families and have a great time doing it.

The Ape hosts a charity 5K race in Leesburg, VA called the Apesh*t 5K. The AS5K is not your typical 5K however. You run with a partner and stop along the race route to compete in four events: cornhole, golf putting, darts, and pong toss. Have skills in one or all four events? Those skills are rewarded with minutes subtracted from a team’s overall race time so even those athletes who may not be the fastest runners still have a shot at Apesh*t glory.

The Ape has been fast at work planning the next AS5K, which will be held on November 6, 2016 at Westpark Golf Club in historic Leesburg, VA (that’s right, you get to run on a golf course!) Race registration is now open!
