Peabody Dental Practice Attends Training Course in Boston
PEABODY, MA --(Marketwired - February 24, 2016) - The staff of Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology recently spent a weekend at the Yankee Dental Congress in Boston learning more comfortable ways to take dental impressions.
/EINPresswire.com/ -- The Yankee Dental Congress is the largest dental training seminar in the Northeast. The meeting offers courses and continuing education opportunities for dentists and their professional staff.
"This course is consistent with our desire to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry," said Dr. John Argeros, who operates Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology. "By seeking out the latest treatments and technology, we can provide treatments that are more comfortable and have a higher success rate."
During the seminar, the doctors and team members at Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology studied all aspects of dentistry and took additional training on digital impressions and CAD/CAM technology. Digital impressions and CAD/CAM are used to design and fabricate restorations that fit on damaged teeth or dental implants.
Dr. Argeros said the staff regularly attends continuing education courses and looks for new treatment methods and protocols to integrate into the office. He said the digital impression allows his staff to achieve a perfect fit for restorations. Using a computer-assisted camera, the mouth is recorded digitally and the digital impressions are sent to the dental lab to be turned into CAD/CAM restorations for the patient.
"Our patients love to hear about the very newest in dentistry and to learn how we plan to use these new techniques to their advantage," Dr. Argeros said. "Digital impressions are the most exciting new procedure and patients love the idea that they will no longer need to have all that 'gunk' put in their mouths."
Dr. Argeros, a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, has served the Peabody community for more than 35 years. Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology offers All-on-4 dental implants, implants for dentures, crowns, bridges, veneers, teeth whitening, sedation dentistry and most recently, endodontics.
Dr. Argeros began incorporating dental implantology into his practice in the 1980s. His experienced and well-trained staff uses the latest technology to serve patients through paperless dental management software, CT scans, digital radiology, intraoral cameras and CAD/CAM restorations. Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology uses the i-CAT, a cone beam computed tomography scanning system that shows a complete scan in just nine seconds.
Dr. Argeros is one of a few hundred dentists in the world who holds a certification in dental implants from the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. He also is the former president of the Massachusetts Dental Society of Anesthesiology. In 2009, Dr. Argeros earned the prestigious Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and was also appointed to the review board for the academy's publication, The Journal of Oral Implantology.
