Amazon Web Service to Build 100MW Wind Farm in Ohio
December 2015 - Amazon Web Service (AWS) has contracted with EDP Renewables to build a 100-megawatt wind farm in Paulding County, Ohio. The wind project, named the Amazon Wind Farm US Central, will have the capacity to produce approximately 320,000 megawatt-hours of electricity per year starting in May 2017. The electricity will be delivered into the grid that supplies AWS's current and future data centers. AWS has a goal of increasing renewable energy use from 25 percent to at least 40 percent by the end of 2016.
