WASHINGTON, Nov. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Tuesday (11/24), Uber DC will team up with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) to collect and deliver food donations to help alleviate food insecurity in the Greater Washington community.

Representatives from Uber DC, CAFB and DC City officials will be onsite at the CAFB to volunteer time packing 150 weekend bags of food for children at risk of hunger. Uber driver-partners will also increase transportation and logistics capacity for the CAFB by delivering the weekend bags to community partners and picking up from community food drives. Zuhairah Washington, Uber DC General Manager, CAFB President & CEO Nancy Roman, along with Deputy Mayor Snowden and local City Council members will provide remarks, and will be available for interviews about the partnership.
