EPA and CRS Announce 2015 Green Power Leadership Awards

November 2015 - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) announced the 2015 Green Power Leadership Awards. The awards were presented in Washington, D.C. at the Renewable Energy Markets 2015 conference. The awards recognize exceptional achievement among EPA Green Power partners and suppliers.

The EPA recognized a total of twenty-two organizations this year. On the purchaser side, Apple, Microsoft, the National Hockey League, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and the Tucson Unified School District were named "Green Power Partners of the Year", and the 2015 Green Power Purchasing Award went to: Ahold USA; Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences; Government of the District of Columbia; H&M; Hypertherm; Kaiser Permanente; Northwestern University; Saunders Hotel Group; State Street Corporation; Traditional Medicinals; and Ulster County, New York. Also, the City of Hayward, California, General Motors (Michigan), and New Belgium Brewing Company (Colorado) received awards for on-site generation. On the supplier side, the 3Degrees Group, Renewable Choice Energy, and Silicon Valley Power were named Green Power Suppliers of the Year. Awards were also provided to Intel, Kohl's and TD Bank for sustained excellence in green power this year.

CRS recognized individuals, companies, and other renewable industry leaders through three awards. Apple, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the U.S. Green Building Council received the Green Power Market Development Award. The Bonneville Environmental Foundation received the Green Power Education Award. Marty Sedler, Director of Global Utilities and Infrastructure for Intel, received the Green Power Leader of the Year.
