Morrison-Knudsen Awarded $380 Million Superfund Site Clean Up Project

/EINPresswire.com/ -- LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - October 23, 2015) - The US Army Corps of Engineers in conjunction with the State of Arizona has awarded Morrison-Knudsen Corporation a $380 million environmental clean up contract at a former copper, gold and zinc smelter near Apache Junction, Arizona. The scope of the work involves demolition and reclamation ot the copper and gold facilities making the site presentable to put the abandoned property up for lease again by the State. The site has proven copper, gold and zinc reserves which the State anticipates it will put up for bid within two years. The contract includes upgrading the road into the site to AZDOT standards.
