NCAIED CEO Gary Davis to Receive National Director's Special Recognition Award From Department of Commerce
Recognition, Awarded by Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Is for Davis' Dedication to Native American Business Enterprises
/EINPresswire.com/ -- MESA, AZ--(Marketwired - October 20, 2015) - Gary Davis, President and CEO of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED), will receive the National Director's Special Recognition Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). The award, which recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on the success of minority business enterprises nationwide, will be presented today by MBDA National Director Alejandra Castillo during the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council Annual Convention in San Diego, Calif. President Obama has declared the week of October 18-24 as National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week.

Earlier this year, Mr. Davis participated in MBDA's Stakeholder Summit in Washington, DC, which sought to raise awareness and start a discussion on issues related to minority business enterprises (MBE). Additionally, Mr. Davis was appointed as an Ambassador in the Department of Energy's Minorities in Energy (MIE) Initiative. Earlier this month, NCAIED renewed its partnership with MIE, which works to strengthen and expand innovation in energy-specific economic development and workforce development/science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.
For 45 years, the MBDA has worked to link minority-owned businesses with the capital, contracts, and markets they need to grow. The agency advocates and promotes minority-owned business with elected officials, policy makers, and business leaders nationwide.
