Winnebago Completes Sale of Metro Link(TM) Transit Bus Operation
/EINPresswire.com/ -- FOREST CITY, IA--(Marketwired - October 13, 2015) - Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WGO), a leading United States (U.S.) recreation vehicle manufacturer today announced the sale of its Metro Link™ bus operation to Metro Worldwide, LLC., Clear Lake, Iowa.
Metro Worldwide, a subsidiary of PNI, Inc., has been the exclusive distributor for the Metro Link bus. Metro Worldwide, LLC will be moving production of the Metro Link Transit Bus to a facility in Westminster, Maryland over the next 60 days.
"Given the continued strengthening of the RV market, and the growing demand for Winnebago RVs, we felt our resources were better used to focus on the design and manufacturing of our motorhomes," said Scott Degnan, Vice President of Sales and Product Development. Winnebago Industries’ production facilities used for bus production will be converted to RV operations. Winnebago Industries employees who work in the bus operation will be transitioned into other areas of the company.
