World's Leading Experts In Transgender Surgery Gather In Boston For Plastic Surgery: The Meeting

Newest Techniques and Advances Shared by Most Prominent Physicians

CHICAGO, IL, USA, October 9, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The latest techniques and advances in transgender surgery will the subject of various sessions at this year’s scientific conference, Plastic Surgery: The Meeting, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) announced today.

The Meeting, which will be held October 16-20 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, has been skillfully developed to provide an extraordinary experience to plastic surgeons, residents and other allied health professionals interested in bringing the most leading-edge clinical information to their practice, and enhancing patient satisfaction and surgical outcomes.

"Gender confirmation surgery is an evolving area in plastic surgery. To date, most practicing plastic surgeons are unfamiliar with gender dysphoria and the role of surgery," Scot B. The sessions will take place on Friday, October 16 3:30-4:30 for a presentation on Transgender Breast Surgery Juliana Hansen, MD; and William Kuzon, MD, PhD and on Monday, October 19 at 10:15 a.m., "Reconstructive Transgender Surgery" will be presented by Loren Schechter, MD; Lawrence Gottlieb, MD, Stan Monstrey, MD, Paul Weiss, MD, Hsu Ma, MD, Randi Ettner, PhD, and Douglas Ousterhout, MD, DDS.

"These panels will provide a basis for understanding gender dysphoria and the role surgery plays in caring for transgendered individuals. In addition, they will present an overview of surgical procedures currently available for transgendered individuals and the recognition of the multi-disciplinary nature of care for the transgendered patient," Glasberg noted.
