The Family Mediation Center offers education and guidance for all couples who are considering separation.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, USA, October 9, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Family Mediation Center launched in southeast Wisconsin to provide mediation, education, and guidance for couples separating or seeking divorce. Family Mediation Center’s innovative interdisciplinary process is the first of its kind in Wisconsin. Headquartered in Milwaukee, the Family Mediation Center now has locations in Waukesha and Mequon.

Divorce occurs in 50% of all marriages, but it does not have to destroy families. “Too often the only stories about divorce involve high drama and trauma, though most couples want to separate and restructure their families with a minimum of conflict and cost”, says Attorney Susan Hansen, co-founder of the Family Mediation Center.

An estimated 70% of all couples currently navigate the court process with no professional input about legal, family or financial consequences, which too often results in poorly-informed decisions and future conflict. “Our communities need to know about this innovative option for couples to work with a neutral lawyer mediator to obtain education and create their own agreements rather than using the courts to make decisions for them,” said Hansen.

The Family Mediation Center provides lawyer mediators as well as child and financial specialists as needed. The Center has launched a social media campaign to spread awareness about this family-focused process.
