September 2015 - The Colorado Energy Office has provided $1.2 million grant funding to GRID Alternatives, a non-profit organization, to develop community solar photovoltaic (PV) projects exclusively for low-income residents in Colorado. GRID Alternatives will construct up to 12 solar PV projects ranging in size from 50 to 500 kilowatts, with a total capacity over 1 megawatt. The PV projects are expected to supply power to approximately 300 low-income families with four-year subscriptions. The project aims to make clean energy more accessible and affordable to Colorado's low-income ratepayers.
