EFSA announces November Scientific Forum as part of Five Year Anniversary
This unique international event is an opportunity for expert scientists and other interested parties from the EU and beyond to debate cutting edge food safety issues with EFSA. Agenda items will include nanotechnology, animal cloning, chemical and microbiological risks, GMO risk assessment, nutrition and risk communications. To enhance the scope and diversity of the event, parallel sessions will look at lessons learned in different fields through case studies and practical examples, before the debate turns to new and evolving issues in food safety.
Speakers will include EFSA scientific experts and other specialists in food safety science worldwide, joined by participants from the European Commission and European Parliament, national food safety authorities, international organisations and stakeholders.
Output from the event will also help inform the EFSA Food Safety Summit to be held in Brussels on 22 November, where high level decision makers from the Member States, EU institutions, international organisations and non-EU partner countries will consider jointly the future of food safety and risk assessment in Europe.
Further information on the event will be posted shortly on the EFSA website, including instructions for registration.
