"Antisocial 2" starring Samuel Faraci will have its World Premiere at the 2015 Fantasia Film Festival on Thursday, July 30 in Montreal.

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, July 29, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The young and extraordinarily talented Canadian actor, Samuel Faraci – who is best known for his roles on the hit television shows "Hemlock Grove," "Hannibal," "Odd Squad" and "Super Why!," – will make his debut in the horror film genre as Jacob in the much-anticipated feature "Antisocial 2," which will have its World Premiere on July 30 at the Fantasia International Film Festival, in Montreal.

Produced by Breakthrough Entertainment in association with Black Fawn Films, "Antisocial 2" is the follow up to critically acclaimed psychological zombie thriller "Antisocial," which also premiered at Fantasia (2013).

"Antisocial" centers on a violent epidemic that spreads across the world through the social networking site Thesocialredroom.com. Infecting users, the Redroom Virus begins turning a large portion of the population into zombie-like killers. In the midst of the chaos, Sam, played by Michelle Mylett ("The Drownsman," "Ascension") discovers that she is pregnant.

Picking up several years later, "Antisocial 2" follows Sam, who while searching for her child who was stolen at birth, is captured and confined to a testing facility dedicated to stopping the spread of the mysterious virus. There, she meets Jacob, played by Samuel Faraci, a young child prodigy with special powers, which he obtained through his infected mother; and a key piece of the puzzle, who later becomes a crucial part in the efforts to stop the virus.

Directed by Cody Calahan ("Antisocial"), "Antisocial 2" was written by Calahan, Chad Archibald and Jeff Maher.

With "Antisocial" receiving rave reviews as well as a nomination for the Grand Prize of European Fantasy Film at the 2013 Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival, and the way the plot continues to thicken in "Antisocial 2," it's almost a guarantee that the film will also do exceptionally well in the film festival circuit and beyond.

"Working with Samuel was great, he was surprisingly mature, and talented," said director Cody Calahan. "He would always pull me aside and say 'last night I was thinking this...' And drop an idea about his character that day. I would definitely work with him again. Maybe 'Antisocial 3'."

The young actor, who has already proven his diverse talent with performances in comedy, crime and drama shows, got to experience a totally new genre while working on the upcoming film, as well as some of the exciting behind the scenes movie magic techniques that make horror films truly frightening.

When asked about his favorite part of working on "Antisocial 2" aside from acting, Faraci said, "The make-up! All the blood and veins! At the beginning I thought I would be scared, but no, the cast and crew were super friendly, and I even learned how to make fake blood-- it tastes sweet because it’s made with maple syrup."

At just 9 years old, Samuel Faraci has already procured a dazzling career on film and television. Since wrapping production on the film "Antisocial 2," Faraci has shot another horror film entitled "One Drop," which also wrapped production this year and is slated for a 2016 release.

In the upcoming film "One Drop" Faraci plays the role of Hunter, the son of the film's lead character, Ellie Barnes, who is played by Leo Award nominee Laura Gilchrist from the hit television shows "Covert Affairs," "The Listener," "Bates Motel," and "Supernatural," as well as the films "Hamlet," "The Deadly Pledge," "Meteor Storm" and others.

Directed by multi-award winning director Tricia Lee ("Silent Retreat," "Clean Break"), "One Drop" revolves around a single mother (Ellie Barnes), who wakes up in a medical facility where she makes the startling discovery that she is nine months pregnant, and everyone in the facility is dead.

Some of the young actor's other credits to date include playing Rocky in the third season of Nickelodeon’s hit animation series "PAW Patrol," Jack in "Hemlock Grove," Littlest Pig in the third season of the PBS animated series "Super Why!," Henry in "Saving Hope," Franklin in "Hannibal" and Ori in "Odd Squad."

Tim McKeon, the creator and director of the PBS Kids' show "Odd Squad," said, "Samuel was a joy to work with and brought a lot to the role of Ori on 'Odd Squad.' So much so, that we wrote an additional episode featuring the character. Samuel had great comic timing, was always present in the scene and has a natural likability, in my opinion."

Although Faraci has only been acting professionally for the past three years, one-third of his lifetime, his talent is already well known throughout the industry, an undeniable fact that is supported by the 2014 Joey Award and 2015 Young Artist Award nominations that he received for his performance as Franklin on the NBC series, "Hannibal."

In addition to the films "Antisocial 2" and "One Drop," audiences will also be able to catch Faraci in the upcoming musical drama "Country Crush," the most recent film from Andrew Cymek, who is known for his work as the writer/director behind the sci-fi TV series "Dark Rising: Warrior of Worlds" and the film "Night Cries."
