Xerafy Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit against SenseStone Technology, Zhejiang Jiakang Electronics

Lawsuit asserts that SenseStone is manufacturing, marketing, selling and importing tags into the United States that infringe on Xerafy’s US Patent No. 8,678,295

HONG KONG, CHINA, July 8, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Xerafy, a leading innovator in the RFID technology industry, announced that it has recently filed a patent infringement complaint (civil case no. 15-cv-04349) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against SenseStone Technologies and its parent company, Zhejiang Jiakang Electronics (collectively “SenseStone”).

The lawsuit asserts that SenseStone is manufacturing, marketing, selling and importing tags into the United States that infringe on Xerafy’s US Patent No. 8,678,295 (the '295 Patent), which discloses an improved miniaturized RFID tag with a microstrip patch antenna that can be used on metal surfaces. The lawsuit identifies a number of SenseStone’s current RFID tag offerings as infringing, and Xerafy believes that as the lawsuit progresses it will be able to identify additional infringing tags being sold by SenseStone to U.S.-based customers.

Xerafy’s '295 Patent helps protect Xerafy’s industry-leading line of ceramic RFID UHF tags. These innovative products have made it possible for customers in many industries to track assets in high temperature and harsh environments, and even in situations where the available space for tagging an asset is limited. Because of Xerafy’s innovations, including those described and claimed in the '295 Patent, customers are now able to keep better track of their assets and work flows, access timely information to make better decisions, improve efficiency, safety and compliance, as well as reduce costs.

This lawsuit against SenseStone is not Xerafy’s first attempt to enforce the '295 Patent. In March of this year, The Tag Factory entered into a licensing agreement with Xerafy with respect to the '295 Patent, confirming the valuable nature of Xerafy’s patent assets.
