CLEVELAND, GA.--, UNITED STATES, June 30, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- CLEVELAND, Ga. – Author Beth Cantrell spins a charming collection of fanciful and enchanting tales of animals inside the charming community of Leggtowne in his children’s book, ‘Leggtowne Chronicles.’

A collation of eight side-splitting and witty short stories of the life and times of a talented spider, a web-spinning rabbit, a garter snake who swallowed a blue cobalt tarantula, a rat who joined the church choir, a horse who saved the nanny goat, a opossum who worried too much, and a grumpy old barn cat, these barnyard animals from Farmer Papa’s North Georgian farm all come together to share a series of story pieces and misadventures in ‘Leggtowne Chronicles.’

Cantrell delightfully shares the core inspiration leading towards the birth of his first ever children’s book. “The initial story of the book was actually inspired by my then eight-year-old grandson, Braiden. He had such an exaggerated fear for spiders. So, when I spotted a Huntsman Spider taking up residence under the doorbell at the front entrance of our house, I decided to name him, take pictures of him and involve him in the making of the story. We watched the spider all summer and I eventually wrote a story of it and included the pictures and clip arts of it and made the whole thing into a photo book at Walmart’s online photo shop. I gave it to him for Christmas. The other stories grew from the first.”

We raise horses on a small farm in the north Georgia Mountains and I used the stud barn, the multitude of spider webs around the stalls, an adopted rabbit, and many of the creatures – and imagined creatures in and around the barn to create more stories. The stories themselves took little time to write. An idea would present itself and I would start writing, which I have continued to do. The grouping of the stories, which grew one upon the other, took longer to happen. The idea of seeking publication, like the stories, just popped into my head and I pursued it.”

“We’re very proud and happy with how readers have responded enthusiastically with this and actually desire for more! Beth has proven to be one of our best authors who have a knack for creating stories of gentle humor, sweetness, and simplicity to the story that is actually quite hard to find nowadays.” States Alexia Hale, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.

A juvenile fiction that incorporates the value of recognition and approval as each one learns to accept one another as they are, help each other through their troubles, encourage each other in their aspersions, and do it all with a strong and abiding faith in God. Cantrell has managed to season his write-up with a hint of wit and humor and shows his fans that love, fellowship and hospitality are the primary characteristics that motivate the inhabitants of Leggtowne and the rest of the world.

“I am continuing to the write stories as they come to me. The ‘Christmas in Leggtowne’ story is my new favorite but there are others that continue to build one upon another. Some characters return, particularly Crackle, the rabbit – who is a real rabbit, by the way, and goes with me on book signings, and they also continue to get into trouble, from which they need help getting extracted. I hope to compile these new ones and have them published one day,” Cantrell adds.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release, through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Beth Cantrell was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her degree in Literature and Classical Studies from the Georgia State University. She worked as a reporter, feature writer, news editor, and columnist for three different newspapers. Her pursuit for her dream of becoming an author started atop her horse farm in Georgia.

Cantrell won the 'Best Writer in the Mountains' award. She now lives in Cleveland, Georgia and has five children, 16 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
