Today, I feel like I stepped out of the daydream and into reality.

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, June 26, 2015 / -- The U.S. Supreme Court today delivered a historic victory for gay rights, ruling 5 to 4 that the Constitution requires states no longer allow marriage only for heterosexual couples, clearing the way for same-sex couples to marry no matter where they live.

Outspoken critics of the ruling believe the court has changed the traditional definition of marriage, sending the country into uncharted territory. Those in favor of the ruling view it as the most pressing civil rights issue of modern times.

Top Christian author and blogger Brandon Wallace with says that history was made today, literally changing his life and the lives of millions of others in the LGBT community.

“Growing up as a gay kid in the South, I never dreamed that this day would actually come in my lifetime. I remember being about 12 or 13 years old and daydreaming about living in a land where being gay was not socially unacceptable, and how wonderful that must feel. I never would have dreamed I would actually be able to marry someone that I love. Growing up, I assumed the only way I’d actually ever experience a wedding day is to either stay in the closet and marry a woman, or have a ceremony that wasn’t legally binding. Today, I feel like I stepped out of the daydream and into reality.”
