GSA and Pioneer Green Energy Sign 75 MW Solar PPA
May 2015 - Pioneer Green Energy, an Austin, Texas-based renewable energy company, announced that it has finalized a solar power contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Under the power purchase agreement (PPA), GSA will purchase 75 megawatts (MW) of solar energy from Pioneer Green Energy's Great Bay Solar project, which is under development in Somerset County, Maryland. The utility-scale Great Bay Solar project is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2016. Once completed, the generated power from solar is anticipated to reduce the equivalent of more than 300,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year.
