Georgia Power to Construct Three 30-MW Solar Projects at Georgia Army Bases
April 2015 - Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, marked the beginning of construction of three 30 megawatt (MW) solar projects on Georgia military bases, with the first taking place at Fort Benning near Columbus, Georgia. The remaining two facilities are expected to be installed at Fort Gordon near Augusta, Georgia and Fort Stewart near Savannah, Georgia. These three projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
