European Commission to request a Court of Justice opinion on the trade deal with Singapore

The European Commission has confirmed today the decision of the previous Commission to proceed with the request of a Court opinion on the Singapore FTA. On 30 October 2014 the previous Commission had decided to request an opinion of the Court of Justice on the EU competence to sign and ratify the free trade agreement with Singapore. The current Commission has reviewed this initiative and decided to go ahead.
