Paducah author partners with Tate to inspire cancer patients
Kentucky author Gaylon Hayden has teamed up with Tate Publishing to kick-start the publication of her juvenile fiction book
Gaylon Hayden loves Christmas, but in the middle of all the wonderful celebrations, she finds out she has cancer. Everything changes for her family that year, but the message of hope carries her through and inspired her to write “It’s Christmas Again.”
“I was diagnosed with cancer on Christmas Eve, and I quickly realized it was not going to be an easy process. To help me through the hard times, I would think about the children who were dealing with cancer and realize if they could do this, so could I. In January 2014, a few years after being diagnosed with cancer and celebrating Christmas again and again, I decided to write “It’s Christmas Again” to offer hope and encouragement to those brave children who inspired me,” shares Hayden.
“Gaylon’s idea of inspiring children with cancer through this book makes it even more special and uplifting. “It’s Christmas Again” gives encouragement and renewed hope to carry [them] through very difficult situations,” states Stacy Baker, Acquisitions Editor of Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release, through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Gaylon Hayden has one daughter and two grandchildren and lives in Paducah, Kentucky, with her husband, Mark. For years Gaylon worked with children in her church, and has always enjoyed writing material for children. Gaylon's experience since she was diagnosed with cancer has given her a greater compassion for those in need. Besides sharing her story through this book, she loves to help others by cooking meals and providing rides to the hospital or to the doctor’s office for those who are sick. Gaylon loves to read, especially stories of people who have overcome difficult situations.
