Statement from Secretary Vilsack on Increase in Number of Students Eating Healthy Breakfast at School

WASHINGTON, February 10, 2015 - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack made the following statement on the School Breakfast Scorecard released today by the Food Research and Action Center:

"It's very encouraging to see more and more students participating in the school breakfast program. School meals now provide many of our nation's public school students with over half of the food they eat every day, so it is especially important that these meals provide kids the nutrition they need to learn and grow. Healthier meals lead to healthier kids, which is why parents, teachers and doctors support them."
