January 14 ESTAP Webinar: DOE OE Energy Storage Safety Strategic Plan
On Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 2:30 - 4 p.m. ET, Clean Energy State Alliance will host a webinar on the OE strategic plan that provides a roadmap for grid energy storage safety, released in December 2014. OE's Imre Gyuk, Energy Storage Program Manager, will present an overview of the strategic plan. The plan addresses the full range of grid-, utility-, community-, and residential-scale energy storage technologies.
Other webinar speakers include Sean Hearne of Sandia National Labs, discussing the need to develop tools and techniques to validate the safety of fully integrated energy storage systems; Kenneth Willette of the National Fire Protection Agency on the needs of the first responder community to prepare for, prevent, and respond to safety incidences with energy storage systems; and Vincent Sprenkle of Pacific Northwestern National Lab highlighting the key challenges and gaps in current codes, standards, and regulations affecting energy storage safety.
The webinar is free but registration is required.
