Kirk Hanna Appointed Legislative Liaison for the MI Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

Lansing – Jamie Clover Adams, Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) today announced the appointment of Kirk Hanna as the department’s Director of Policy & Legislative Affairs. In this role Hanna will develop and advance MDARD’s policy initiatives with both the Michigan Legislature and the Congressional delegation. Hanna begins his new position on January 5, 2015.
“Kirk brings a wealth of public-private legislative and policy experience that will allow him to hit the ground running at the beginning of the year,” said Clover Adams.
Hanna takes over the duties of Derek Bajema who left to become the President/CEO of the Michigan Soft Drink Association.
Most recently Hanna worked as Government Affairs Director for Troy-based Kelly Services. He also served in various capacities with the Michigan Senate from 1998-2005 before leaving to work for Kelly Services.
Hanna lives in Brighton with his wife and children.
