Son-In-Law Products Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Anchovies in Hot Smoking BBQ, Medium Smoking BBQ, Garlic Horseradish BBQ, Honey Horseradish BBQ, and Cherry BBQ sauces

For Immediate Release: December 2, 2014 Media contact: Harold Kemler, Owner, 517-521-3358   Webberville – Son-in-Law Products of Webberville, MI is recalling 12 oz bottles ofHot Smoking BBQ, Medium Smoking BBQ, Garlic Horseradish BBQ, Honey Horseradish BBQ, and Cherry BBQ sauces because they may contain undeclared fish.  People who have allergies to fish run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

 The recalled Hot BBQ, Medium BBQ, Garlic Horseradish BBQ, Honey Horseradish BBQ, and Cherry BBQ  sauce were distributed at Linden Mercantile located in Linden as well as at craft and hunting shows and farmers markets and via Internet sales. All date codes are included in this recall.

The recalled product comes in a 12 ounce bottles with white labels and black lettering with the exception of the Cherry BBQ which has a black lable and yellow lettering. All date codes are included in this recall.  The codes are located on the colored dots on the lids.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the recalled product.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered during an inspection conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development that the product labels that did not reveal the presence of anchovies/fish. 

Consumers who have purchased 12 oz bottles of Hot Smoking BBQ, Medium Smoking BBQ, Garlic Horseradish BBQ, Honey Horseradish BBQ, and Cherry BBQ sauces are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.  Consumers with questions may contact the company at 517-521-3358.
