Shawn Herndon was inspired to write by his mom who always encouraged him to never give up on his dreams. Throughout his young life, he has suffered from dyslexia, which as a young kid caused him to struggle to write. However, with the aid of amazing teachers and his mother he has overcome this slight disability. This has encouraged him to write even more to prove to kids who struggle with dyslexia that anything is truly possible if you believe in it.

Herndon has read over 100 teen/young adult books. He believes this has allowed him to understand what teens and young adults really want to read. He is a young adult who wanted to create a world that he would want to be involved in. With the hopes that others would be captivated by the idea of what if this was real.

Herndon is part of a family of four; he is the oldest of two. He has a younger sister that inspires him every day due to her medical disabilities. He serves in the Texas Army National Guard and attends Tarleton State University full time. He is an active supporter of 4-H and FFA events. In addition, Herndon is a hunter who enjoys spending days out camping and enjoying the outdoors. His inspiration comes from his sister, family and friends that always support him in his endeavors.
