PotashCorp Support Brings We Day to Saskatchewan Again on November 7
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) and is bringing We Day Saskatchewan back to Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre on Friday November 7, 2014. PotashCorp is the regional title sponsor of the event, which is an initiative of international charity and educational partner Free The Children.
Celebrating empowerment this year, We Day is a stadium-sized youth event where entertainers and speakers share their passion for change, international experiences, and energize the crowd with unforgettable performances and motivational speeches. Headlining the Saskatchewan event this year will be Nikki Yanofsky, Kardinal Offishall, Roméo Dallaire, Shawn Desman and Marlee Matlin.
“We are excited to be partnering with Free The Children to bring We Day back to Saskatchewan for the third time. We love the fact that youth earn their tickets to We Day through acts of local and international service,” said Rhonda Speiss, PotashCorp’s Manager, Community Investment.
PotashCorp is the founding partner of the Agriculture and Food Security pillar of Free The Children’s established Adopt a Village development model. PotashCorp also directly supports six rural communities (two in Kenya, two in India and two in China) on sustainable agricultural initiatives.
We Day Saskatchewan will entertain and inspire up to 15,000 students and educators from more than 300 schools across the province. Giveaways will include one PotashCorp-sponsored Me to We youth volunteer trip to Kenya during summer 2015 and a souvenir toque for all attendees.
