Social Media Training Workshop Announced at PRSA International Conference 2014

Santa Monica, CA - (NewMediaWire) - September 18, 2014 - Google isn’t the only the one training employees how to use digital tools like mobile, social and video for marketing, as Stuart Elliot wrote about this week in the NY Times.

For the sixth consecutive year, top-rated instructor Eric Schwartzman will conduct a Social Media Training Workshop to help marketers and public relations practitioners home their digital acumen at the PRSA International Conference 2014 on Oct. 11 from 8:30 to 4:30PM ET at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C..  Cost to attend is $500.

“In addition to covering the entire digital landscape, this year’s preconference social media training workshop includes the latest on social media ethics, risk management and social media crisis communications,” said Eric Schwartzman, a best selling social media marketing author, who has led social media training sessions at Edison International, Johnson & Johnson, Toyota, UCLA, the US Dept. of Defense and the US Dept. of State. “We’re also including one-year unlimited access to our new self-paced Social Media Ethics Training online course, as well.”

The fast-paced, one-day social media workshop – which is open for registration to all 2014 PRSA International Conference attendees -- covers social media strategy, social media management, social networking on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and search engine optimization (SEO) for Google search. The workshop combines live, functionality demonstrations with best practices and relevant case studies. Participants are required to bring their own laptops. Internet access and lunch are provided.

Social media training workshop attendees will see live iPhone mobile app demonstrations magnified on a large screen and learn key features of the Facebook Pages Manager app, the Twitter Mobile App and the Instagram app.

The live desktop and mobile app demos are designed to give participants an opportunity to develop applied social media marketing skills in a friendly, informal, workshop environment. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions with their peers.

To help PR practitioners better manage the reputations of their clients and employers, this year’s session covers privacy awareness, security awareness, the FTC disclosure guidelines and workers rights on social media.

The social media workshop is for attendees with intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills. Participants should be comfortable pointing, clicking, dragging, dropping, cutting and pasting in a MS Windows or Mac environment prior to attending.  This course does not cover basic computer literacy skills.
