Coordinator Macon Phillips of the Bureau of International Information Programs will travel to Mexico, August 28-31.

During his visit to Mexico City, August 28-29, Coordinator Phillips will visit the Ben Franklin Library, one of the Department’s premier American Spaces. He will meet with digital media outlets and staff of EducationUSA in support of the President’s 100,000 Strong in the Americas, an initiative aimed at increasing educational exchanges between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Coordinator Phillips will launch CampusUSA, a yearlong digital campaign to inspire students from Mexico to study in the United States and to connect them with educational resources. His trip will also support the U.S.-Mexico Bilateral Forum on Higher Education, Innovation and Research, that was announced by President Obama and President Pena-Nieto in May 2013.

On August 30, Coordinator Phillips will travel to Queretaro to address 2,000 youth leaders from across Mexico at the Gen M Summit, which aims to empower the next generation by creating a network for leaders to collaborate together to create change in their home communities.
