DETROIT – The UAW announced today the overwhelming ratification of a new three-year agreement with Dana Corp.  This agreement covers 2,500 UAW members in 11 Dana facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee and Missouri.  Bargaining was held in conjunction with the United Steelworkers (USW), who represent workers in six of the facilities in South Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky. 

The new agreement provides wage increases for all workers, maintains current health care plans with no additional premium share, improves pensions and narrows the gap between wage tiers.

“This agreement continues the progress workers made three years ago in historic bargaining between the UAW, USW and the Dana Corporation,” said UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada, who directs the union’s parts and suppliers department. We have continued to close the wage gap between those workers who were hired after the Dana bankruptcy, while recognizing and rewarding those dedicated workers who successfully carried Dana through bankruptcy.”

“I am extremely proud of our sisters and brothers at Dana who continue to fight for economic justice,” said UAW President Bob King. “The bargaining committee successfully protected health care, improved pensions and increased wages for all workers.”

This is a prime example of what we can accomplish when we stand in solidarity,” Estrada said.
