Request for Information for Marine and Hydrokinetic Field Measurements

The Energy Department’s Water Power Program is seeking feedback from the marine and hydrokinetic (MHK) industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding the verification and validation of advanced open source MHK design tools and models. The Water Power Program is specifically interested in information on imminent demonstrations or deployments of large-scale (1:5 or greater) MHK wave energy and current energy converters, in order to verify and validate these design tools and models. Additionally, the Water Power Program is interested in gaining an understanding of the potential benefits of making these field measurement data, validated design tools, and models publicly available, as well as any intellectual property concerns that may limit stakeholder involvement in collaborative data collection efforts. This is solely a request for information and not a Funding Opportunity Announcement; the Water Power Program is not accepting applications at this time. For more information, visit the Water Power Program’s Financial Opportunities Web page.
