New Study Examines Economic Impact of Wind Energy Development in Oklahoma

The Economic Impact Group published The Statewide Economic Impact of Wind Energy Development in Oklahoma: An Input-Output Analysis by Parts Examination, a study that calculated the contributed economic impacts of wind energy in Oklahoma during the development, construction, and operational phases. The study found that wind development created a tax base that will provide more than $42 million in annual property taxes to municipalities and school districts, more than $22 million in annual payments to local landowners, and approximately $15 million in direct wages to local workers.
