Rose Gottemoeller, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, will travel to the Netherlands, Israel, and Cyprus from March 24 – March 29, 2014.

From March 24-25, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will join Secretary Kerry for meetings at the Third Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, Netherlands.

From March 26-27, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will meet with Israeli counterparts, including several military leaders. Gottemoeller will discuss regional security issues, arms control and nonproliferation policy, missile defense cooperation, and export control matters.

While in Israel, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will head the U.S. delegation to the 43^rd Joint Political Military Group, one of several long-standing bilateral security discussions. She will also receive field briefings regarding how the Israeli government addresses its current security challenges.

On March 28, the Under Secretary will travel to Nicosia, Cyprus, to meet with President Nicos Anastasiades and other Cypriot counterparts to discuss our bilateral cooperation on a full range of regional security and political-military issues. She will also meet with Sigrid Kaag, the Special Coordinator of the OPCW-UN Joint Mission on eliminating Syria’s chemical weapons program, as well as other officials associated with the Syria CW elimination effort. They will discuss the ongoing process to remove and destroy Syria’s chemical weapons stockpile.
