NAPERVILLE, IL, USA, February 11, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Adam Parks of Naperville has joined the Naperville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Aurora resident, Adam Parks will act as the Chamber's Chairman of the Member Services Team.

NAPERVILLE, IL - The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce has appointed Aurora resident Adam Parks to the 2014 Board of Directors. Parks will also serve as Chairman of the Member Services Team. Each term lasts three years.

Adam Parks is a Naperville Financial Advisor with First Command Financial Services. He has been a member of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) since 2010. During that time he has served on the Chamber's Speakers' Bureau and is the outgoing CORE Team Chair.

“I first joined the Chamber as a way to expand my business and I have to say it has paid off in spades. 60% of my new clients are either Chamber members themselves or have been referred to me by a Chamber member. One of the tenets of the NACC is that members “Shop the Chamber” first. This means that when a company or an individual has a need, they are encouraged to look for a provider within the ranks of the Chamber membership first. In this way, member businesses can more fully support one another. As a Board member, Parks plans to continue this philosophy.

“It’s an honor to be selected to the Board. I hope to improve member retention, increase the value of Chamber membership to members by adding educational events and opportunities and effectively represent the Naperville Chamber to area legislators," said Parks.

As Chairman of the Member Services Team, Parks will act as liaison between members and the Board. The Member Services Team advocates for the membership, reporting needs and suggestions directly to the Board, while maintaining the mission and best interests of the Chamber.

Adam Parks has several note-worthy credentials to his name. He was selected "Best Investment Advisor of 2013" by Naperville Magazine. In addition to his leadership roles within the NACC he is a member of several local community organizations including the Rotary Club of Naperville where he sits on the Board of Directors and was voted 2013 "Rookie Rotarian of the Year". He is the 2014 Chair of the Club's Membership Committee and is the Past Chair of the Rotary Sponsorship Committee, which raised nearly $80,000 under his guidance.

Parks is active in the Naperville Exchange Club where he served on the Steering Committee for Marketing and PR of the Naperville RibFest. He is a regular speaker for the Naperville Speakers Bureau and a Life Member of the Naperville VFW. Adam Parks is Lead Ambassador for Blessings in a Backpack (IL), a non-profit food program that helps feed children on the free and reduced lunch program through a weekend backpack distribution program and is the 2013 Presidents Club Winner at First Command Financial Planning.
