Europe and Eurasia: Assistant Secretary of State Anne C. Richard To Travel to Brussels, Belgium

Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne C. Richard will travel to Brussels, Belgium from January 22-25, 2014.

While in Brussels, Assistant Secretary Richard will meet with counterparts at the European Commission to participate in a strategic dialogue on humanitarian assistance. She will also meet with policy makers, non-governmental organizations, and international humanitarian partners to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Syria, as well as a range of migration and asylum issues.

The United States and the European Commission provide well over 50 percent of total contributions to the multilateral humanitarian system.
