Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the University of Connecticut published a new report, Relationship between Wind Turbines and Residential Property Values in Massachusetts, which investigates the impacts of wind facilities on nearby home values in Massachusetts. It builds on LBNL's previous studies published in 2009 and 2013 by amassing a much larger dataset of home sales near wind facilities sited in urban environments than had previously been collected. Researchers at LBNL and the University of Connecticut analyzed more than 122,000 home sales near 26 wind facilities in densely populated Massachusetts, finding no statistical evidence of an impact to property values.
