This study, which follows the first phase of WWSIS, focuses on potential emissions and wear-and-tear costs of cycling fossil-fueled generators in scenarios with high penetrations (up to 33%) of wind and solar generation. Brinkman is a member of the Energy Forecasting and Modeling Group in the Strategic Energy Analysis Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
